The confidant of CAF President Ahmad Ahmad Sita Sangare, who also doubles up as both Burkina Faso FA President and Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive Committee (ExCo) member, has been ordered to stop further participation in football.

Sita Sangare who serves as an army colonel was hoping to be re-elected for a third term in office, but the country’s military junta has put a halt on his ambitions.

Earlier on, the military had endorsed Sangare for the post, but this week, the army’s Chief of General Staff Moise Miningou informed him that the previous letter (endorsing him) was canceled and that therefore, he was not authorised to present his candidacy for the Presidency of the Burkina Football Federation (FBF) “for service reasons”.

To date, only Amado Traore the head of Majestic SC has filed his intent to vie as President.

The development comes as a big blow to CAF President Ahmad Ahmad, who relied on Sangare to whip the West Africa Francophone votes during meetings. Sangare was able to transmit bribes on behalf of CAF President Ahmad Ahmad to his fellow West African Francophone counterparts, so as to vote in a manner which benefits the sterile agenda of Ahmad Ahmad, Constant Omari, Fouzi Lekjaa and Hany Abourida.

It will also be remembered that Sangare together with Mauritius FA President Samir Sobha, openly told off FIFA President Gianni Infantino over the proposal to renew Fatma Samoura’s tenure as the General Delegate in charge of Africa.

Reliable sources say that Fatma Samoura sent a protest note to the Government of Burkina Faso, asking them to censure Sangare for openly defying the world governing body.

Coincidentally, both Sangare and Fatma shared cordial relations and they were also present during the much maligned Umrah trip to Saudi Arabia, where the Muslim fraternity of CAF were treated to an expensive trip, which has now become subject of both ethical and audit inquiries.

As all this is happening, concerns continue to be raised as to why after a conclusive PwC audit, Ahmad continues being allowed by Gianni Infantino and the partisan and corrupt members of the FIFA Ethics Committee, to continue serving in office.
