On his official Facebook, Tunisia FA (FTF) President Wadie Jary has denied all rumors circulating in recent days that he has fled to Qatar, claiming that he is focused behind the scenes of the team’s preparations ahead of the World Cup. Credible reports state that there are three criminal files on his alleged professional misconduct and corruption, and he’s at risk of arrest should he return to Tunisia.

This state of affairs forced FIFA President Gianni Infantino to intervene, following a meeting between him and Jary at the FIFA Bureau in Paris on 28th of September, right after a preparation match between Tunisia and Brazil at the Parc Des Princes. Jary has not been in Tunisia since the Mediterranean Games held in Algiers in September, where he was faced with accusations of harassment of hotel staff, following disagreements over the payments of a bill.

Algerian websites, including the Algerian Professional League website, circulated shocking news about the president of the Tunisian Football Federation, Wadie Jary, who was in Algeria with the Tunisia youth team, who lost on penalty kicks against Algeria in the quarter-finals of the Arab championship,  where local media confirmed there that the president of the Tunisian Federation assaulted a hotel worker with insults and almost slandered her had it not been for the intervention of the regular patrons at the hotel.

Complaint about Wadie Jary’s harassment of a hotel staffer in Algeria. FIFA and CAF took no action.

The issue caused a heated exchange and the local police were called in to resolve the situation. It took the intervention of former Algeria FA President Mohammed Rouaroua to save Wadie Jary from arrest, amidst uproar from Algerians on social-media who questioned the motive behind Rouaroua’s interest in the matter.

Since then, Wadie Jarie who also doubles up as a CAF Executive Committee (ExCo) member has been living in hiding, operating between Doha, Cairo and Paris where he’s held one formal meeting with FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

Infantino issued a threat to ban Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles from the WorldCup should the Government continue interfering with the affairs of the FTF, following comments from the Ministry of Youth and Sports about the possibility of dissolving the Federation.

The real reason for this threat by Infantino came on October 24th. FIFA sent a letter to the FTF in which it cites several paragraphs of articles 14 and 19,  which were interpreted as a veiled threat to the Government, whilst demanding a response from the FTF by Friday, October 28, 2022. However, according to the Tunisian media, Wadie Jary is trying in vain to politicize a personal problem and he seems to be cornered, with his Executive Committee distancing themselves from his transgressions.

CRIMINALS: Gianni Infantino and Wadie Jary.

It is being interpreted that the President of FIFA Gianni Infantino is consciously defending a criminal and meddling with judicial proceedings of a sovereign nation,  as the Ministry of Sports only intervened as guarantor of the regulations, since it was CS Chebba, a football club and bonafide member of the general assembly of the FTF,  which requested for an administrative and financial audit as per the FTF statutes. Therein lies the crux of the problem.

The request for an audit was declined severally by the president of the Tunisian Football Federation forcing CS Chebba to file a case, where three (3) Tunisian courts gave authorisation order in favour of CS Chebba, appointing auditors to oversee the process.

The court-appointed auditors were subsequently prevented from carrying out their audit, according to a source familiar with the matter, meaning that Wadie Jary is in violation of and in contempt of a court order. A representative of the Ministry of Sports present on the set of Carthage-TV, distanced the Government from allegations interference and announced that the president of the FTF is the subject of several corruption investigations.

Those investigations pushed him to try to and negotiate a deal with the Tunisian President Kais Saied.

Wadie Jary tried to negotiate with Tunisia’s president, promising to resign after the WorldCup. He has now disowned his own proposal.

Wadie Jary reportedly begged Tunisian authorities to provide guarantees for his “safe” return to his country, pledging to resign immediately after the WorldCup 2022. According to reports, the proposal was dismissed by the Government, saying that they had no control over the Judiciary which is an independent arm and that he was free to return home.

Paranoid for his freedom and knowing full well that he’s in violation of a court order, Wadie Jary made a last-ditch effort to convince FIFA President Gianni Infantino to blackmail the Tunisian government using the National Team’s participation in the Qatar 2022 WorldCup as bait.

Gianni Infantino has a known habit of defending criminal football administrators, especially now that the FIFA Presidential elections are around the corner and he’s counting on the votes of corrupt officials from across the world, whom he allows to loot their federations in exchange for their votes at the FIFA Congress. Infantino is part of the criminal conspiracy to defend corrupt federations and use National Teams funded by Governments as collateral for blackmail.

Meanwhile Wadie Jary has come out guns blazing putting on a brave face and posting a long Facebook threat to sue three individuals whom he claims are behind his trials and tribulations.

ANGER: Wadie Jary has taken to Facebook to lament about problems that he created for himself.

Amongst those he’s threatening are Shukri Hamda, Director of Legal Affairs and Spokesman of the Ministry and the current Advisor to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Lawyer Wafaa Al-Shazli, who revealed that Jary has embezzled 4 million dinars from FTF accounts and finally The Ambassador Newspaper which ran these claims on their publication.

He fronted an unconvincing argument on why he has not been in Tunisia since the beginning of September claiming he has been accompanying the National Team on their preparations for the WorldCup (yet he’s not a member of the technical bench), and also citing other assignments yet there’s no evidence of participation in CAF ExCo meetings of which he’s a member.

Tunisia are pooled in Group D with France, Australia and Denmark.
